Join us on Sunday mornings

On Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30am, the Junior High Youth (6th – 8th) meet upstairs in room 200 and Senior High Youth (9th-12th) meet in room #201-202. Our teachings typically follow along with the topics and scriptures covered in church services. During the summer months of June and July,  ALL youth meet together from 9:30-10:30 am for a large-group teaching and discussion. Sometimes we split up into smaller groups for talks.

Youth Group

Focus is on individual spiritual needs, building relationships, serving others with love and having fun. We usually meet together in the afternoon. We plan special activities like a pumpkin carving contest in October, visiting a local old-school arcade, traveling to a water sport destination, or helping with intergenerational service projects like our Halloween night block party. Sometimes we have a short devotional time/discussion, and then conclude our community time with a fun group activity or game. Sometimes we invite other church youth groups to come play sports or games with us.

Confirmation
Classes for 7th to 12th graders

During confirmation, students learn the basics of the orthodox Christian faith as passed down from scripture and Christian history, as well as United Methodist specific doctrine and church theology.

In addition to Confirmation classes, potential Confirmands participate in “field trips” to different worship experiences (Greek Orthodox Monastery, Jewish Synagogue, African Methodist Episcopal Church, etc.). All of this takes place within the context of community; students make life-long friends and are led by influential and committed adult mentors.
